I can honestly say i will never BUY another windows OS again

That is my goal before I buy my next computer, is to try to master a version of a Distro and have that as my sole operating system. :good:

Well, I used GParted Live and shrank my windows partition by 11 GB, stuck fedora core 14 on that 11 GB and I'm STILL not impressed. It takes FOREVER to browse the web, yet I'm downloading things at 500 Kb/s down plus (which is still a VERY SMALL FRACTION of my actual speed). So I can't figure out why it takes so long to load a page. It's really, really annoying. >.>'

Yes there's always windows, That's if you like having to fork out for a faster machine and a new operating system every 3 years and yet you still dont see no major performance boosts. ( you NEED the faster machine to handle the new OS ).
I shouldn't be so mean i have spent many year using windows without any major issue , well until Vista :freakout:

Personally i like banging my head against a wall for 5 hours whilst i trouble shoot something, it makes it so much more satisfying when i actually get it to work.

I was tryin to help a buddy about a half hour ago with his mac and the file structure on that machine was a disaster imo. Duplicate folders in multiple locations that have different things in them. drove me nutz

All macs are like that.

There still could be improvements to the windows system *cough* Registry *cough* but it does seem to beat the others for now. I heard in Mac OS X Lion they are doing a major overhaul and changing A LOT of stuff. Lookin forward to finding out.

I found out why linux was being bogged down. It wasn't linux. It was firefox. The linux plugin for Java in Firefox is actually buggy and doesn't work properly. I installed google chrome and I'm absolutely FLYING now. :3

Simple, do some research, don't give up on day one. I know that's what you meant to say Guest, being a hacker and all. :3

Agreed =] Linux is a great opportunity and I am going to take a step forward and start exploring the Unix based systems. I need to get ahold of a newer mac though somehow. Hmm
