I'm not miffed. Just upset that no one even bothers to post in the forums. So you got the reason right, just not that I'm 'miffed.' :3

Sorry, didn't mean to sound like a dick. :freakout:

I think at times all the regulars here, find it a bit frustrating and "miffing" about the lack of participation in the forums. Hell, we get more participation from spammers screwing around on the site.

I know that not everyone has the passion that a lot of us have, but a simple thank you or hey great site would be appreciated from those on their fly by! :headbang: :headbang: :thankyou:

For some reason every time I see our registered users I cant help but wonder why 98% of them do NOT participate in the forum if they have already registered. 16371 as of 12/17/2010 and I we have only added a dozen or so of new users that I recognize around the forums. It makes me wonder how many of them are just spam accounts automatically generated by archiving bots and other automated tools.

Is there a way for HT to check the activity of the accounts? Just take a look and make a general guess at how many actually "look" like real users?

I love this place to death and will be here till the end of me. Its a home away from homes and I have friends away from friends. I just dream so big for our family and its hard to hear that it costs sooo much and there is no way to solve that problem that we know of.

I can still think of the sites that I used to download roms from. It only consisted of 3 or 4, but I always used them. Now I only use TOC, and the goal is to make it that way for everyone. Its one hell of a goal, but with everything we have here right now, and everything that we are contributing, and everything that we are going to do...I can literally picture TOC as a shining golden castle in the distance high upon a hilltop with the sun setting causing a very ethereal effect and its just warming to the core.

If you dont know or havent checked in a while, take a look at Alexa.com and see a "general" site flow info.

Can I just point out a small but very important observation.

As a direct result of many generous members donating, we have been able to expand our server to 3TB. This is something which would have been impossible (financially) before we introduced limiting certain 'high bandwidth use' sections to paid members.

It works  thats all I wanted to point out. That and to say a huge thank you to everyone that donated in 2010. Please keep it up in 2011 and you never know, maybe by 2012 we be our own ISP

Lol About the alexia thing,
, the site's audience tends to be male; they are also disproportionately low-income users under the age of 35 who browse from home and have no postgraduate education. While about 21% of visitors to Theoldcomputer.com come from the US, where it is ranked #71,012, it is also popular in Spain, where it is ranked #20,700.

how does it know who I am? lol
That's me

I personally think that fees are the "de facto standards" for sites that offer a service.

To whom it may concern, i also think that a reoccurring "low-rate" monthly fee (even with limitations per GB, to discourage wild FTP-iyng) or an adequate lifetime "no-strings-attached" unlimited fee would be the best solutions.

My own 2 cents... Are for You :) .
