One of the threats that seem to be most prominent is one called Zero Day, which seems a very serious potential threat.
Microsoft had a response. Being that they are in no hurry to issue a patch as if seems that no one as yet seems affected. MY thought to that was class action lawsuit for negligence if that threat were to become rampant, after the Microsoft statement and their lacakdaisic attitude.
As I surfed further, I saw an article that hinted at a new version of Windows for 2012, which is being naysayed by many as being too soon, and predicting the public is not ready and probably would balk at a new version so soon.
Further reading showed that Microsoft is very disappointed in the lack of acceptance of and slow sales of Windows7.
My conspiracy theory jumped to the fore front after reading so many woeful Microsoft stories.
Poor sales, threats, lack of commitment to threats, Hmmm..., so many threats,no action, slumping sales, and who better to produce those threats that seem to be affecting older versions of Windows. The maker of the product!
Solution: Produce the threat, delay action to the threats, focus threats on older versions.
Result: Lack of confidence for older version, purchase of new version, smiles and hand rubs for producer because of increased profit.
My, My, where ones mind goes when suffering withdrawal from TOC!
