CONFUSED.....Mame roms MAME Version

Hey Guys.

I have the following question.

I Know there is a lot of informationj about Mame and the Rom sets, but the amount of infos have me confused a little bit.

So my Question is. witch Mame Version i have to use with the Romset of 0.72

There is so much mame versions out there not only the Version number itself are confusing me but also the Versionsitself like Mame 4 all or LR Mame and so on.

I have no idea wich mame in witch version is for witch Romset

It will depend more on what hardware you are wanting to run this on? Is is a PC and if so what is the spec? Is it a handheld device or a raspberry pi?
