ps monster rancher question

Ok if you've never heard of monster rancher ,,,, its a cross between a digipet and pokemon where you train monsters for arena battle and gain fame and fortune its just got cult status here in America and after a few gameplay changes in the last game it faded away (2 and 4 is the best )

But what makes it unique is the way you get monsters ... you put in other games and cds for ps1 and dvds for ps2 and it generates a semi random monster I say semki because some of them are just color swaps (in fact theres something of an inside joke in the series ... if you use say mortal kombat or something violent and bloody you get cute little fairy monsters if y ou use dora teletubbies ect you get the violent bloodthirsty monsters)

How do you do that using roms and an emu or can you at all ?

logic suggest that this would be impossible. unless an emulator has special programming for this fuction that would include the use of a CD/DVD-ROM drive or a virtual disk drive. but personally, i don't think it's possible.

You might be able to do it using ePSXe, as long as you are running the actual disc for the game, but you'd have to look deeper into that. IIRC, the gameshark for the PS (the disc version) worked with ePSXe last I ran it, so maybe this is possible there.
