ROM SETS download

Are we able to download complete ROM sets? it looks like we can only download 25 roms at a time and these are individual games, so if i wanted to download an entire MAME romset for example it would take years as theres about 2000 games? can someone please confirm if i have this right?

At present (the current website) you are able to download individual files up to a maximum of 25 at any one time and at full speed. Within each section there is a folder called Single-Download-Mega-Packs and within there are some zip'ed sets of roms for Unlimited members, to allow them to get roms faster and also to allow download of complete sets without lots and lots of clicking.

This is obviously far from perfect but because of the size of the larger rom sets, like MAME, MESS, ISOs etc there is currently no other way or we would suffer from bandwidth overload and huge costs.

To solve this problem we have been designing and coding an entirely new website that features a download management system for each individual user. This system allows everyone to bookmark, individual files (roms), folders of files and also folders of folders of files. This in turn will assist the users with remembering what files they want to download and also in the automation of the downloading, based on their level of access.

This new system is planned for release this year and is being working on right now.

In the meantime please look in the folder for rom sets.

hmmm, the file extensions are .001 .002 and .003 ??? i cannot unzip these?

These are RAR type archives which you need 7-Zip or WInRAR to open. To open them you always open the first one in the sequence. It is basically an archive split into parts so make sure you have all of them before you open the first one.

1- Open first archive file
2- Extract

ah ok, done it, thanks for the advice, I didnt realise the second 2 files are extracted together witht he first one i was trying to unzip them all

I do not think that is available at this time, however if you hang around for a little while, in the near future the site will be undergoing a massive transformation to make all sections available to download at once for Unlimited members. I hope this helps!
