donation...

Postby GhostxScorpion » Mon Feb 02, 2015 4:21 am

Hi, I donated 10$ just not at one time. I donated 1$ at before I saw the thing about needing to donate 10$ to get unlimited. so after the 1$ I donated 9$ all of this via paypal. My question is does someone have to activate my unlimited or do I have to donate the 10$ all at once to get the unlimited immediately. Please tell me I just didn't waste 10$ :( :( :( :( .

you need to do a full $10 donation to have your account upgraded to unlimited status. and your first two donations arn't wasted. they will go towords keeping the site running and advertisment free.

Could not have said that better myself. I see a lot of people trying to be 'cheap' by donating $1 to see if they can 'fool' the system and then complaining when they donate the remainder and it does not work. Lots of people also donate $5 and then another $5.

It is very simple, the system is automatic and it cannot combine donations into a total.

Yea, but if they donated $10 in total over the course of say... one hour, then I think we should apply the Unlimited status to them. To be fair, it was still $10 USD, and it was still within the same day let alone hour... so... why not?

Those are just my thoughts on this though, they are by no means site policy in regards to this issue. :hi:

If I could make the system do this then I would but it is not possible. We don't have any humans checking so the system cannot combine two separate donations from PayPal at different times.

Donating $1 and then $9 ..... seriously

Well, I did mean to have a human manually gather the required information regarding their donations and then look into how close the donations were made to each other and if within an acceptable range then just manually grant them the unlimited status... is that possible, or would that theoretically be too much work? :?:

I believe that it might be possible Kherr. but this person would have to be able to dedicate a certian amount of time each day to do this. and this person would have to become an admin in order to be able to make the upgrades.

but i can see Hot Trout's point of view as far as someone donating $1 and then $9 (or at least what i think is his point of view).
if someone was serious about donating $10, they wouldn't donate one amount and then , within the same hour, donate the rest of the $10. to me it looks like they were trying to cheat the system. :bowser:

Unless, of course, they just didn't know about the restriction. A lot of people just don't read... then they find out, shit... I need unlimited to get x games... I'll donate the rest now because I already gave $5 thinking of it as a thank you, now here's the rest for unlimited... and then they don't get it. Then they're like... what? I donated $10!!!

My point is nowhere on the site does it state that it has to be all at once to activate the status. Just sayin'. :hi:

Actually it states it clearly on both the donation page and the faq page and it had been asked and answered a hundred times on this forum.

A lot of people donate $1 and then some minutes later donate the proper amount and that is simply because they want to see if $1 will get past the system. When it doesn't, then they donate the correct amount.

I probable come across as some money crazed webmaster but the truth is we are only just getting enough to pay for everything. Remember that we removed ALL advertising to make the site more enjoyable but in return we need everyone to donate.

With better income we could do a lot more as well.

New here. Logged in after activating, made a $20 donation and I am not yet unlimited. It said it is supposed to be instant.
