Vintage Express PC

I've found an old PC in a storage box and was wandering if anyone here could tell me something about it, like what it's worth and if it's rare/wanted. It's an Express PC (I've never heard of it and I couldn't find any type number or something like that) and I believe it's from the 70's. The last time I plugged it in (a few months ago) it was still functioning and it had a operating system from late 70's running. If anyone could tell me some more about it and/or (knows someone who) wants to buy it that would be great.

Just from looking at the pictures I can tell you that it is a generic built IBM compatable AT PC. Most likely a Intel 286 or 386 model and it probably dates from mid to late 1980's.

If it will start up, take a picture of the BIOS screen and post that, then I can tell you more.

Hey, thanks for the response! I've turned it on and it was still fully functional. I've made some pictures (see below) and it is indeed from the late 80's. Unfortunately the keyboard is bad and doesn't send the characters that are typed but it sends "random" characters. Anyway here are the pictures:

Nice looking Machine, good that it fires up, and too bad the keyboard isn't working, if it were you could have some fun with that baby. Where are you located? Country, state?

The keyboard has a PS/2 connector so it's not that hard to find another one, but unfortunately I don't have time to play with it. I'm from Holland near Amsterdam.

Thanks for the pictures. I can tell you that it is an XT Clone. The Phoenix BIOS 2.27 is a generic BIOS for clone PC's with XT motherboard. Because it is a clone it most likely has a 80286 or 286 CPU inside and your harddisk is almost certainly a 20MB MFM/RLL disk like a Seagate ST-225.

Thank you very much for the info! It's a pretty cool machine, but I don't got the time to play around with it so I think I'm going to sell it to someone who does got the time for it. It would be a shame if she would stay in the storage box. What do you think it's worth roughly? I've got an offer for 10 euros but I was hoping to get a bit more for it.

10 Euro, rubbish. Although it might not be any use for today, there are collectors that would use the guts of it to restore other machines. The fact that it is still working without any maintenance is very good, it must have been stored well. 30euro minimum. I would hold onto it, then again I hold onto everything.
