Thanks for this awesome site which I just became a member of! Anyone here ever had a crack at a world high score? I'm thinking of having a go and trying to get my submission as compliant as possible. I didnt realise how strict it is so thought I'd share my experience here.

You can't use any old rom or version of MAME. I'm gonna have a go at my childhood fave game Terra cresta, and you can only use MAME 0.106 with 0.106 version ROMS. It doesnt actually say this on their site anywhere I found out by contacting them. You have to record your mame game to a file and send that with a fee to submit a score. I'm surprised with a site as big as this there's no mention of anyone trying to get a world record score? Or did I miss something?
With this in mind reckon I can put in a request for a MAME 0.106 mega pack please?

Appreciate it anyone has could share their experiences.

I knew about it but have never thought of going for a high score myself. Maybe some of the other members would be interested, it is a good idea and I thank you for bringing it up. If there are rules and guidelines, maybe we should open a topic explaining it properly and also look at a 0.106 mega pack.

cool- good to see some interest out there! hitting a bit of an issue now in that TG only accept submissions using WolfMAME 0.106. TG sent me this link to get it http://www.mediafire.com/download/o10rnjzizxy/WolfMAME_0.106_Installer.exe

Now I downloaded terra cresta rom 106 from here and it doesnt work on wolfmame. Is the ROM on here correct I wonder? How do I know? I've also tried other versions of the same ROM but cant get any to work with wolf!
Oh the dilemma! 1st world problems eh!

Any ideas?
