I don't mind waiting but in the meantime, there is one huge favor you could do:

There's an app on iTunes right now called Gridlee. It's really MAME, and with it you can load MAME Rom's onto your non-jailbroken iPhone. The only ROMset it works with is MAME Mame-0.139 ROMs.
I registered here so I could access that one particular set, would you be horribly put out to make just that set available to Registered users?
I'm sure that will bring a ton of traffic your way since other than using Torrent to get the whole 20gig shebang, there's no place but here to pick and choose individual ROMs.

The entire 0.139 set is 24.4 gb.
There are really 4 ways to do this.
1. You download the games you actually want in single rom fashion from a site, such as this one
2. You download larger game packs that you want from a site, such as this one
3. You download from a site that has the entire collection, but it is split into reasonable-sized chunks, hosted on a file-sharing site (such as deposit files, mediafire, etc), not the actual webpage.
4. You find a complete torrent from a trusted source.

If you really, really for some reason want/need the entire 20+gb complete romset, your best bet would be a torrent.

Sorry to post this here, but I'm not sure where else to ask. I donated this morning and logged out / back in and still don't see that my account was changed to Unlimited (also I can't seem to send private messages which is why I'm posting here). Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

What am I missing, then? All I can see on that page is a list of folders sorted alphabetically - it says at the top that it the folder is accessible to "U" only. If I try to download a single game rom, I get no download link - just an advert to watch, and links to upgrade or get help. Hence I upgraded this morning (or tried to, anyway).

Also, where are the larger game packs of which you speak?

Mame 0.37b5 and Mame 0.137 are available to registered users. Mame 0.139 and the other sets are only available to Unlimited members due to their size and download bandwidth impact.

Once PayPal have sorted their problems all the users that donated for Unlimited access will be able to download any and all roms from the entire Mame catalogue.

We do also have complete mame rom packs for a few sets like 0.37b5 and earlier and they are in the subfolder called Single-Download-Mega-Packs.

IMPORTANT NEWS UPDATE : 28th 21:50 GMT

PayPal seems to be working again in the past hour. 3 new unlimited users have successfully completed their donation which would suggest that PayPal are once again returning the correct info back to our servers. Sadly it does not appear that the members that donated earlier today have been upgraded yet.

I suggest that we wait until tomorrow morning to see if the backlog comes through. If this does not happen by midday GMT then I will manually upgrade these small number of users myself.

Unfortunately, as Warduke mentioned, many of us are signing up specifically for the 0.139 as many of the 0.37b5 roms we downloaded for iMAME are not compatible with the version embedded in Gridlee!

PayPal was having some issues processing payments earlier today. Hot Trout, can you verify that wooly was upgraded to Unlimited?

IMPORTANT NEWS UPDATE : 29th 9:40 GMT

PayPal seems to be working properly this morning, all members that donated during the night have received their unlimited accounts without incident. Also the good news is that those people that donated yesterday during PayPals little website problem have now also been updated.

The only issue we seem to have this morning as a result of PayPal's system problems is that just at present members are unable to actually donate anything. It would appear from messages on PayPal website that this is due to them making server maintenance and that normal operation will resume soon. My advice is just to try and donate again every so often.
