DISCUSSION | Problems With Unlimited Account

Hi,

I´ve already donate and my account isn´t upgrade.
This is my paypal confirmation of my donation:

Could you tell me what had happened (I read all FAQ and I think everything is ok in may account and in the payment)

Same problem here: donated the $15 via paypal, with sufficient funds in place, but account remains Registered.

Hi, I donated twice (the last time was $15) and followed all the instructions - changed password, went to ROMs page and logged out and in. It still doesn't show me as an unlimited user. Please help, thanks!

Warduke, I found your donation for $6 on the 27th but you need to donate $10 or more in a single donation to uplrade to Unlimited. Please remember that donating another seperate $4 or $5 amount will not work, it needs to be a single donation of $10 or more to trigger the upgrade scripts. There is nothing I can do about this, the system is automated with PayPal.

I made a $15 donation and checked paypal to make sure the donation has cleared. I‘ve also tried changing my password but am still not an unlimited user. Help!

IMPORTANT UPDATE : Jan 28th 13:30 GMT
Just in the last hour we can confirm that the automated Paypal receipts have stopped coming into the server. This is the system Paypal uses to confirm your payment to us. This in turn then automatically upgrades your account to Unlimited. Without these receipts coming back from paypal your account status will not have been upggraded yet.

We are investigating if the problem is here at our server or at Paypal. As we have not changed anything here we suspect a small problem with Paypal.

I can confirm that all those users that have contacted me have paid and I can see the payments in Paypal so please do not be concerned. We will first wait to see if the automated Paypal systems kicks back into gear over the next few hours.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update everyone as soon as we know more. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

UPDATE 28th 15:20 GMT : Some of the Donations from earlier have started to come back from PayPal and as a result accounts are being upgraded. I am keeping an eye on this and will update again soon.

IMPORTANT NEWS UPDATE : 28th 15:28 GMT

The current issues with accounts not being immediatly upgraded to unlimited are indeed an issue with PayPal and not http://www.theoldcomputer.com. Please read the following article for full story. In the meantime I suspect that it is perfectly ok to continue to donate for an unlimited account and at some stage PayPal will catch up.

Thanks Warduke for trying to get in contact. I dont think there is anything that I can do to help unfortunatly. The problem is with PayPal and they are very aware of it. I would imagine and hope that this will all be resolved as soon as PayPal can. Stay tuned and I will of course update you all once I know more.

In the meantime I suspect that it is perfectly ok to continue to donate for an unlimited account and at some stage PayPal will catch up. If for any reason PayPal are unable to fix this I will start the long process of manually upgrading those people that have donated.
