All things Z80.

Postby richardemuk » Sun Jul 18, 2010 2:55 am

Hello all,
let me introduce myself I am 69 years old and partially disabled.
My interest in the Z80 began when I bought a Sinclair Spectrum, about 25 years ago.
I then decided to "Home Build". Boards were Vero VQ. The "Wireing" was done with a "wireing Pen".
Display was via Texas Til38 hex displays with inbuilt decoder. all you needed was a Buffer and away I went.
I then needed a way to read Hex, there was program for the Spectrum, all you needed was time and patience.
I made mistakes, fortunately not expensive ones. A 6116 2k static Ram cost around £15.
Then a major fall at work meant that I would not be able to work again.
Over the years I bought z80 boards and a sole Heathkit board with an Intel processor.
My last buy was a Multitech Micro- Professor MPF-I Plus.
It is in near perfect condition and has three expansion boards "I\O -Printer {Thermal} and serial"
The display is a Vaccum Flourescent and it has a miniture Qwerty keyboard.
The essential missing Item is Manuals. I hope that someone out there has one.
Kind regards. Richard.

First, thank you for donating and welcome to the forums. We have old and young members here so you will be right at home. Can I ask specifically what manuals you require, I have a huge collection over the years and might just be able to get what you need.

Note: I am planning a manuals/magazine section this autumn.

Richard,

You are seriously going to love this. I riffled through my collection and was able to find you just about everything there is on the Multitech Micro Professor MPF-1. Check this out

All the ROMS associated with the device, printer, sound chip are now in the ROMS Database.

Thats just for starters, I also setup the first folder in the upcoming manuals database just for you. Although you can not visit that area yet, I have placed direct links below for you.
