Hi everyone!
here is what you will need to attach a second cord to an NES controller:
soldering iron
solder
2 NES controllers
a small philips head screw driver
a vice of some sort
a pair of tweezers
needle-nosed pliers
two steady hands
ok first things first
use the philips head screw driver to remove the six screws from the back of Both of the controllers.
when you remove the back you will see something like this
:
Note:the screws may have some rust on them and may also be very hard to remove.
now, you will need to put one of the circuit bords in a vice verticaly like this:
this will make it easier to detach the wires from the board.
now, heat the solder on one of the wires while at the same time useing the needle-nosed pliers to gently
pull the wire out. continue to do this untill you have removed all of the wires.
Note: you will only need to do this with one of the controllers.
ok so,your wire ends should look like this:
now take the second controller board and set it up in your vice like this:
now, add a little solder to the solder that is holding the wires to the board useing only enough to attach the
second set of wires to the board. now for the hard part, heat the solder of one of the wires on the board and use the tweezers to hold the second wire as you solder the second set of wires to the circuit board.
you will need to solder the same color wires to each other. if you don't you will risk damaging the controller
or worse, the NES it's self.
make sure that you get the second set of wires is as close and as flat to the board as possible.
this is what your board should look like:
