Thanks for the fast response however you need to change your links a little for them to have any benefit. Both of you have pasted the URL link but neither of you have used the Link text properly. I will use the link text below in the correct fashion in an example to show you how to use it.

'Being an avid gamer since the 1980's I love playing all of the old computer systems and games consoles. My all time favs are the Nintendo consoles and in particular the Nintendo SNES. If you are unable to find an old SNES to play you can always download an emulator and then some Nintendo SNES ROMs. That way you will still be able to play old SNES games on your PC.'

Look at the paragraph above, it talks about the SNES in a meaningful way but most importantly it uses the LINK TEXT within the sentence and it is the LINK TEXT that links back to the URL. This is important. If you do not want to write a sentence just use the LINK TEXT and link it back to the URL like this.

SNES ROMs

If you are able to place HTML on the site you are using then just use the provided HTML code.

Please change your links so as to look like this. Also, if you have log in just to see the link then I am afraid it is no use and wont help the ranking. Forums are best to place the HTML links in and in particular forums about Nintendo or the SNES or SNES Games etc.

I don't honestly know how I could get it to just say "SNES ROMs." on most sites I visit. Generally they're not PHPbb OR HTML editing so I wouldn't know how to insert it like that. I'll take a look see again on the links I have and see whether or not I can change them properly. :3

There are many ways to achieve this. I understand that a lot of sites no longer allow HTML to be embedded. That said if you look at the options on the site you are using you may see other ways to link a text to a url. In this very forum it is carried out by using the URL tags and then adding the url at the start of the text like this :-

You type in the link text

SNES ROMs

then highlight it and hit the URL tag button above, this then makes it look like this

then you just change the first tag to point to the URL you want like this

All that was change was the =http://www.theoldcomputer.com/roms/index.php?folder=Nintendo/SNES was added to the first URL tag.

I hope this also helps you think about how to embed the links.

Kherr: The chatbox link you posted about minecraft was good, I noticed that you have a signature on those forums, this is the perfect place to have a link back to SNES ROMs. Just though I would point that out.

I can't change my Signature from those forums because it will erase the rest of the content out of it, rules involving links and pictures have changed, now it's only one link and one picture... lulz. But I guess I'll change it. :3

Oh, and HT, I know how to use URL tags, I do that frequently in the Retro Music board here, lol... come on, have you no faith in me? :3

There, I think all but 2 of the links above have been properly changed. :3 The only one's I could change were the furaffinity and newgrounds ones, and I couldn't change the newgrounds one because newgrounds is down atm... for an amazing OVERHAUL!

I have managed to add new signature links to 7 new forums. I also purchased two new domain names and pointed them to the snes roms section.
