In the interest of completeness, I just downloaded the files too, to see what happened. I'm running Win 7 Home Premium x64 and using 7-Zip x64 9.20.

I also got the "unspecified error"...

I get the same error as well. Perhaps the files are corrupt?

IMPORTANT NOTE:

I checked the archive and it was indeed corrupted. I have now recreated this archive and uploaded it again. Please go ahead and download this again and it should work fine.

Sorry for the hassle, sometimes these things are sent to try us.

Has anyone been able to verify that the archives posted work for them? Am I the only one having the issue with the 0.97b5 set?

Oh, well I'm happy that HT found this out when he did. I haven't downloaded it, but if HT says they're good I believe him. :3

Hope you guys enjoy! :D

It's working now with the re-downloaded files; thanks so much for checking out the archives. I was beginning to think I was defective. ;)

mame uses command line

you be better off using a GUI version, try mame32 or mame IV.

don't forget to place the bios still zipped in the roms folder.
