Mass ROM Download

Hey guys, great site esp for a MAME freak like me...

Paid to get unlimited access and was happy to do so... but... is there anyway to download the MAME updates as single, or a few large files ? My latest full set (incl CHD's) is 0.141, to get up to the latest set available on this site would entail clicking thousands of links, 1 by 1, doing an incremental update.

The only "mega" pack I saw was for MAME 0.31 from april 1998.

I would love to offer a MAME 0.143 or 0.144 mega pack but unfortunately it is simply just too big. The bandwidth requirement would be severe. If enough people were willing to pay I could make up a private area to allow you to download the packs over three of four 7zip files.

Would $50 be too much to ask? To give you some idea, 0.143 is 6GB and the CHD's to go with it is 200GB

Honestly, if it was a 1 time payment and the sets would be available like that for all future updates, I'd happily pay $50... in a heart-beat. I do sympathize, I know how big the sets get... my 0.141 is 239GB's with all associated files.

Maybe we should create a special area for this, if enough people paid the $50 it would cover the extra storage for 250GB of mame. What does everyone think ?

I'd be up for something like that (perhaps more for a SNES / NES corner, but my pal would be up for a MAME section for sure.

Hey, I'm the one that even found that mega pack of MAME32 0.310 and all associated arcade games in my backups from years ago... and it was an awesome find at that. All of the old arcade games for retro purposes. I felt that it needed a home here. :p

Seriously though, yea, that mega pack is older than dirt. ;3
