MAME problem

Ok, so I have the ROM to 2 games, Sinistar and Saturday Night Slam Masters, they are still zipped, but they are not on the list. I can't play them at all. It says that the ROM cannot be found. Yet they worked before. Do I need a new version of MAME? or what is the deal?

Any help would be appreciated.

ok a few questions:
what version of mame are you using?
is the roms named correctly and in the roms folder?
have you tried using mame -verifyroms > romerror.txt to see if mame throws errors on the roms?

I am using MAME Plus, which I was told was the best, the roms worked before, because I have played Sinistar many times. Also I have not tried the -verifyroms thing, because I don't know how to do it.

Ok, so I switched to MAMEXT, and I got Sinistar to work, but not Saturday Night Slam Masters, or any rom that I have that is not showing up
