Can Emulators and Roms be run from an external hard drive?

Having a problem downloading or using an Emulator. Not sure which Emulator to use. Post your questions here.

Can Emulators and Roms be run from an external hard drive?

most emu's are portable so yes you can run it from an external hd

for most emu's ive used (zsnes,epsxe,pj64 most used) all i had to do is make sure that they knew where the roms were

Agreed. :3

Just unzip the emulator to the removable jump drive or to an external HDD and then put the roms you want to play into a folder marked "ROMS" on the device, then when you load up the program just tell it to find the roms in that folder on your device. It should work perfectly.

I'm curious if this performs well enough with, let's say, Hyperspin (FE).
For the love of some people I'll start making a portale Hyperspin setup when finished with the arcade cabinet.

It will hold a complete 'ready-to-go' Hyperspin, emulators, daemontools, (possibly roms) & batchfiles.
Will take some time though, and if anyone here is interested in having one, just PM me.
