3rd update :ugeek:

Yesterday we had some time to continue the build (yay!). We started at about 5pm and worked until 0:30 am.

I'll let the pictures do the talking:

Image
Products received:
  • 16x transparent white buttons
  • 16x RGB LED's
  • 16x Microswitches
  • 2x Ultramarc 360 joysticks
  • 1x lightbar for the marquee
  • 2x Usb cables
  • Other cables..

Image
Drilled and sawed out the square for the coin-door. Also had to drill some holes for the (uneven in length) 'moeren' that are attached to the door.

Image

Had to make a (dirty looking) backplate for the subwoofer roster. We made a small mistake with the hole drilling, so. You can also see the start of us making the holes for the 'lamelle' wood connections.

Image
Positioning of several bottom-front elements.

Image
Positioning of several top elements.

As you can see, front-visible elements will be a bit 'dropped back' so the two sidepanels will stick out a little more.

Image
Testing the layout, without any wood-connections made or glue used.

Image
Unfortunatly we had to remove the side holders for the monitor because it would be a pain in the :reddy: to make the wood connections with that still on the both sidepanels.

Image
Wood connection holes just made

Image
And putting the lamello's in!

Image
Had to shave off some of the edge of the monitor-bottomplate. That was because it didn't fit into the sidepanel. The board wasn't exactly 18mm thick, and the CNC machine did make an exact 18mm cut out of the sidepanels.

Image
Starting to glue the bottom together and you can also see the monitor-bottom panel almost in position.

Image
Skyscraper city!

Image
Whole cabinet frame put together and put the speaker rosters on!

Things we have to do next:
  • Build control panel
  • Make and fit the drawer for the keyboard & mouse
  • Make cut-outs for the orange t-molding
  • Put in coindoor
  • Install subwoofer
  • Install monitor
  • Install PC
  • Wireing

'Till next time!

:D :freakout:

Time for an update!

Monitor: perfect fit!

Rearview monitor monitor:

Rearview coindoor:

Subwoofer placing:
Image

Monitor put in, buttttt we noticed that the panel above the coindoor is way off. Unfortunately we will have to remake this one (and it has to be tough to hold the control panel.
Image

Marquee lighting in place:

Working on the control panel (bottom):

Working on the control panel. Rounded edges done with the 'bovenfrees'.

Test with part of the control panel in the cabinet:

And the result so far! :freakout: :
Image

To-do (o.a.):
* Control panel: wood, plexiglas, photoshop design and button & joystick placing
* Rear removable panel fixtures
* Cables
* T-molding
* USB, ethernet & sound extentions at the rear.
* Etcetera ;)

'till next time!

:lol:

Coming saturday evening yet another night to continue the work :).

On the menu:
* Control panel
* Wireing / soldering

If the self made designs have arrived by mail:
* Marquee (and other plexiglass stuff)
* Control panel inlay
* Bezel

So much to do still, but I'm glad it's coming together!
