I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use MAME

I had to do a system recovery the other day, and now I am trying to get MAME back onto my PC.

The problem I am having is that no matter which version of MAME I download, whenever I try to run it, it says that I don't have any ROMs available, even though I placed a few ROMs into the rom folder.

Is there some sort of tutorial that I could follow?

When I had MAME before, there was a little icon of an arcade cabinet that said MAME underneath it, but I don't seem to have that when I reinstall it.

Could someone help?

unfortunately I cannot help you since the version of mame that I'm running is from 1998... but I'm sure that someone on here will be here shortly to help. :3

Try using MameUI, it's a little more user friendly.
