Would like a bit of help

Postby te_lanus » Fri Mar 04, 2011 10:01 pm

I'm looking for a nice hack & Slash game. And Shouldn't be FF, something like Dungeons And Dragons: Shadow over Mystara (for the Arcade), what I'm looking for is something simple and fast, not like FF where it's more a rpg than a hack & slash game.

Diablo was fun but once beaten there aint much doing.

You could try Dynasty Warriors for the GBA, although I'd highly recommend the Xbox copy of Dynasty Warriors 4... it's a really fun hack 'n' slash game series. :3

No problem. If I remember any more hack 'n' slash games I've liked I'll post 'em in here. :3

If you want to pick up the era then the recently released Dragon Age 2 is a good candidate. Could also try Secret of Mana for SNES (though this does have a RPG background as well).

Didn't see a system specified--would Phantasy Star 2 work?--virtually no story, but superb mazes and anime-style characters. Lacks criticals in combat, but if you don't state-save all through will be hard enough. Also more characters than you can play in one game, and superior music. --If somebody has hacked any such features into the combat program please post a link. --If this doesn't float your boat, try the NES Destiny of an Emperor; it has a sequel, but the only article I've found (I thinkf from this site) was defective.

Plr again: thought I'd add the Shining Force series, esp 1. They're tactical, and all a bit kiddy, but that equally means they don't require 20 hours' squinting for hidden treasure and the rest of the Vandal Hearts crap; have special combat cutaways; Game Gear and GBA versions exist too...Or if you really want to go weird, Vixen (also on the Genesis) is a Macross-like tactical, which so far as I've seen will require a nip of Japanese to play. Please post if you know any good (non Squaresoft) rpgs on the newer portables.
