Postby moonbaby123 » Wed Jan 26, 2011 3:31 pm

Hi, I really need help! I have no idea how to do any of this stuff!!! I have a Visual Land V-Motion Pro MP3 player. It will play GB, GBC, & NES games, but I don't know how to download the games to the device. I appreciate any help I can get!!! Could someone give me the steps I need to take to download a game to my device? This is my first time on a site like this and with a device like this, so I don't know any of this stuff :freakout: . Thank you in advance for your help!!!!!

I would like to help you with this, but emulation and MP3 have passed me by, but keep checking back as usually as the more knowledgeable members come online, help is available, most times shortly after coming on. :thankyou:

I'm not sure what you mean by "what folders are inside the MP3". How would I find that out. I know how to get to the MP3 files when I plug my MP3 into the USB, I look in my computer and see the files from the USB drive, is that what you're asking? Or are there other files I don't know of. The files/folders in the MP3 through my computer are: Music, NES, Pictures, Playlist, Record, TXT, Video. The only thing in the folders are the songs, pictures, and ebooks I put in them. There is no folder in 'Program Files' on the C: drive for the MP3 player. I've read the manual and all it tells me is that the device supports NES, GB, & GBC formats. I emailed the support site and this is the reply I got; "You can search google for ROM files for Gameboy and Gameboy color games and then load them into the internal memory of the media player."

I'm not sure if I answered your question, but this is as much as I know. I hope from this someone will be able to tell me how to do this!! I really appreciate the help!!! Thank you sooooo much!!!!

Inside of the directory for the MP3 player which you'll find in my computer has a list of folders. The folder with the name "NES" is where you'll place the .NES files (the roms) inside of. You could probably create a folder in there for both the .GB files (roms) and .GBA files (again, roms) and place those rom files inside the respective folders for organization. So your new directory for the MP3 player inside of my computer should look like this now: Music, NES, GBA, GB, Pictures, Playlist, Record, TXT, Video.

Hope this helped a bit more. ;3

It might also be a good idea to 'unzip' the NES roms before adding them to the folder NES. When you download any ROM from this site it will be in the ZIP or compressed format. Some emulators can use the ZIP file format directly while others need you to remove the .nes file from the .zip file.

I hope this makes sense. Google ZIP files for more info.

Ah. I forgot about that part. My method above involves already unzipped roms. If you don't have archive extracting programs, I suggest WinRAR.

WinRAR

Download that (32 bit or 64 bit, depending on your Operating System. If you are unsure as to whether your Operating System is either 32 or 64 bit, just right-click my computer and go to "Properties." Somewhere in that box that pops up it should say something like "Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit" or "Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit"), install it (when you're installing make sure when it gets to a screen with a bunch of check marks to tell it to associate all archive types), then right click on anything you've downloaded from here, and in the options it will say "Extract files..." pick that one, and then just click OK when it pops up the new screen. It will then extract all of the files inside the archive (it will be either a: .zip, .rar, or .7z file and will have a stack of books for it's icon if you've got WinRAR installed). These newly extracted files will be in a folder that is labled exactly the same as the archive file (for example, if you downloaded 123.zip and followed these instructions so far, there will now be a folder where you are currently at labled "123"). These files should be in .NES, .GB, .GBC, or .GBA (depending on what console said game belongs to). They are what you need to use with the instructions in my previous post.

Also hoping this helps. ;3

(thanks for the reminder about archives HT. :3)
