ACER #1 ??

Postby crustyasp46 » Mon Nov 29, 2010 10:07 pm

Acer, now the world's second-largest PC vendor, hopes to clinch the top spot from rival HP next year, the Taiwanese company's chief executive told a Swiss newspaper on Sunday.

"If the mobile world continues to grow, we will necessarily replace HP as the world's biggest computer-maker," CEO Gianfranco Lanci told the SonntagsZeitung in an interview.

He also said the group would sell more than a million telephones this year.

Acer entered the smartphone industry last year, aiming to reach 6 percent to 7 percent of the market in three to five years.

Its success has so far been very limited, but handset vendors are closely watching the PC vendors move into their marketplace. :typing: :hi:

i hope not. I hate Acer, Don't say it Guest, i know Only Acer Netbooks are crap. I have personally had horrible experience with Acer. and don't say its cuz i haven't tried a "normal" computer. Every single computer I've bought except one has been through acer. so thats what. let me see. 1.. 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... yeah 7 laptops from acer. one of them a high performance computer. and 1 hp which i loved more than all of them put together, lol

Edit: i'm getting one more HP Laptop.
That's me

Hahaha i wasnt gonna say anything. Ive dealt with Acer before. All I really know is that they are cheap. Their prices are much lower from my experiences as compared to others and that would be one of my reasons for recommending them.

Although, it could also be attested that with cheap price comes cheap quality and if 7 laptops has anything to say for that, I may have to agree. As for owning one though, I do not.

It was me. I literally just finished reading that particular post. ACER are really good for the money spent on their products. You'll find much better quality with HP than you will with ACER. BUT, ACER products (minus the aspire line) do NOT suck. They're quite good actually. I've never had ANY problems with any ACER products other than the aspire line. My friend is still using an ACER laptop he bought almost 5 years ago. It's still within modern specs (4 GB RAM, 500GB sATA 7200 RPM HDD, 1 GB Nvidia graphics, and a Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.0 GHz per core). He spent a little over 1000 bucks on it... 5 years ago. I shit you not, I held the laptop in my hands.
