Godless, communist, early holiday Canadians

Postby crustyasp46 » Sun Oct 10, 2010 4:03 pm

We celebrate Thanksgiving Day in October up here because then it gives us a paid holiday day for almost every month of the year. Also Thanksgiving now gives those of us who have relatives in the Good OL' US of A an opportunity to sneak across the border and mooch another FREE good big meal! We commy Canucks have a method behind our madness. We have Canada Day on July 1, and in alot of cases we carry over til July 4, just to help our American Friends celebrate their day .

That is lot to be thankful for here in Canada, Kherr. :thankyou:

I wasn't trying to offend you crusty. I was honestly wondering why thanksgiving, a US holiday, was celebrated up in canada. I wasn't sure as to why. But the free time off of work, and mooching off someone else always spells out for a great time. :3

Until the person finds out you're mooching. Then they come and mooch off you.

Very definitely, no offense taken, Kherr. we along with you have always had a Thanksgiving Day in Canada, albeit in October. I think because our winters usually arrive earlier. or maybe our forefathers had the ulterior motive mentioned above,    Three cheers for the Canadian forefathers :!: :!:

Canada, our mooching neighbor to the north.

Is there anywhere I can go to find the Canadian Thanksgiving story, or is it more or less the same as the US's?

I think it is pretty much based upon the same theme as the USA, just earlier.
