Mame help

Please I am brand new here. I want to set up a x arcade tank stick with retro games. It says it needs to use mame emulator. I see where you can donate to be an unlimited member. And I have no problem doing that , just want to make sure i get the right downloads. Again please help, .

Hi and welcome. Can you give me a link to the device you are going to use. Most likely it will want a smaller complete set of roms like the 0.37b11 MAME set or the 0.72 MAME set.

Both these sets and others are available in the single download packs which makes it easier.

If you are planning on using a Raspberry Pi for the emulator then you will need the 0.72 set. Let me know excatly what you intend to build hardware and OS wise and I will help with the correct set.

I haven't purchased a system to run it yet. Do you have a suggestion? I was thinking windows or not sure if chrome OS would work?

It depends on what you are going to do. Using your PC is the easiest way and the most flexible. If you want to make it portable you could use a laptop or a Raspberry Pi. There are loads of options, it really depends.
