Another fine day of getting things done!

Made most of the angle cuts and finished up the last of the easy stuff. Tomorrow I should have the monitor mounted and at least get a good start on the last piece... the monitor bezel.









I might cut the coin door slot tomorrow if I have time. Starting to look like what I imagined. Almost there!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Hot tip, its a bad idea to set up the game system and test run before the cabinet is finished. Two entire days of me playing the system and doing nothing but goofing off. On the bright side... well... its cool, as cool as I thought it would be... and a tad bit more so. Yeah, I'm going to love it. That being said today I got some work done and...

It's done.

Well as far as cutting stuff out it is. All the hard stuff is done. Now its aesthetics. Wood filler, glue, and clouds of sanding dust are still in my future... then this Monday, the big day... routing then primer.. painting and T-Molding. Then... and then it will be all done. Then what will I have to talk about??? Well till then.... here check out these pics! Cut the spot for my coin door that is on its way, cut the holes for the speakers placed the bezel and used wood filler on all the cracks, its all buttoned up now!

The machine is done, wires packed neatly away, running without error, coin door installed. Front bezel and light bezel are currently a stopgap but I need my garage back now that its cold. This will give me a chance to design cool stuff for both anyway. Now I get to enjoy the fruits of my labor!

So for the sake of a time line lets just toss in the fact I did prime the cabinet.

The camera makes them look vastly different in color but they aren't and the green glow on the power button is pretty bright.

I will post a bit more and full instructions and tips here as the days go by. I will never be done with this and it will evolve. Right now its time for me to clean up my mess and get everything back to normal and .... of course play some arcade games!

The cool thing about the coin door is that it works. I bought it from X-Arcade and it ties in with the sticks coin button. Drop in a quarter and get a credit =)

Having some friends over for brews and games, and the lil' lady isn't bothered now because its all in the man cave! Win win!

This is so awesome!!!! Just registered on this site and my son and I were talking about possibly making a MAME upright cabinet or controller pedestal. I recently purchased a little JAMMA 60-1 cocktail game unit. Love it, but missing a few favorite games that are horizontal and don't want to change anything on it. I have been searching for QBert, Tron, and a way to play some trackball/spinner games.

Still playing the heck outa this system! Well worth the time and effort and one heck of a party starter. If you look at something like this and think... should I? The answer is yes! It may not be easy but its not as hard as it seems and it is well worth the time!
