Did you log out after donating and then back in again so that the site updated your new unlimited status?

this is the best site for mods out there....wouldnot mind paying a little something monthly....as long as the speed is good and downloads ad-free(stress on little though )

I've said it before and I'll say it again. A monthly sub to here would destroy us, not only because of legal reasons but because 99% of people that actually use emulators will just find alternatives to a cost for ROMs that have been free since they came out. A one off fee for an "unlimited" account as a donation is the only way to keep the charges legal as we're not selling the ROMs or content on the site, we're selling the account.

That being said, I think the cost for the Unlimited account needs to be increased by $5 USD. Help us to better afford our monthly rent as we keep adding more and more content.

I've personally given quite a bit of cash to the server (before and after I was Global Moderator) and I plan to continue donating periodically for the foreseeable future.

before i discovered some other places the old computer was the "go to place" for me,sometimes on a daily basis.

i never payed for roms before,never,seen as how HT is really a fan of retro gaming and how the old computer trying to bring as much old consoles love back to the community I'll say it's 10$ well spent.

the members here are mostly nice fellows, who help around when asked for.

now days I'm more busy so i get less time to enjoy my retro gaming,still do so on weekends when i can.

and i gotta say no to the idea of a subcripston,this might "seem" like a good idea in the short run but in the long run it will backfire on the site.

one time fee is fine and dandy by me,HT can also add some ads (if need be),by me.

I take all of this on board and appreciate everyone's perspective. I have to say that I will avoid adverts at every cost. I hate them, always did and I now love that we are 100% advert free. Its faster and less hassle. I also do think that we could increase the fee to $15 minimum although saying that most people are kind and already donate a little more than $10.

Subscription is not on the cards but if we can work out the system, a way of donating small amounts for benefits may be the idea. Again I will stress, we will always allow everyone access to as much as possible for no cost. Where cost is an option there will be some benefit for those that can afford to and who actually want to support us.

all i can see is single roms , surely you don't expect me to download each one individually ?

i need a full set of up-to-date roms for mame that's all
