Just wondering how the gamecube collection is going. I looked in the gamecube roms folder but it only has demos & other things but no mainstream roms Mario Kart DD or metroid. Its been a while since this was discussed.

We need roughly an extra $60 a month, every month for the server upgrade. Also our bandwidth use woud most likely increase due to the large roms downloading. $600 would sort us for a year, some other members donated and I am saving for the rest.

The thing is, once we commit to the server upgrade, thats it set every month from now on.

Wow I had no idea of monthly costs for a site like this. I will donate in about 2 months. I can at least chip in towards the first month of your new bandwidth. I was on unpaid-medical leave for 5 weeks after a doctor gave me an antibiotic that almost :zap: me - Azithromycin, its bad for anyone. I do love this site & believe in it so you have my word - about beginning of July. I will be donating to another great site that week as well for my Wii-modding.

All donations are very much appreciated and I can tell you that other regular members have made some serious cash donations to help us get this new server. Please dont feel you have to, we do this for the love of the retro and not as a business. That said, I would love to build a quad core 8TB SAS monster server with unlimited bandwidth and a dedicated 100MBit pipe. I can dream. :typing:

100 Mbit, ain't you dreaming small? You should go with at least 1 Gbps fiber if you're going to dream. I'd personally dream about having this particular connection...

OM4 (50/125) 100 Gbps. Boom. That's my dream. :freakout:

The entire GameCube (USA) Romset is already available from a different website. Got a tweet from them last month. This is bad news, as the GC is still quite new.

It isn't all that new, considering that the last game made for the gamecube was in 2007... ;)

"The last officially licensed game to be released for the Nintendo GameCube was Madden NFL 08, which was released in the United States in August 2007." - Wikipedia.org
