I agree with HT here. Why would we want to hide anything? The object of a forum is to read the post and responses, and see what people are sharing... not hide it and post without all the info. :p

i have to agree with HT as well. forums are about posting and throwing out as much info as the poster wants really. Forums are also about reading and the more informative posts the better. If you get a wall of text that isnt interesting to you, use the mouse wheel and scroll down

So configure your browser to have special loading instructions for any page on TOC. It's simple, it's in the options of just about every browser (and if you're unlucky enough to be browsing with IE, I have to say: FIREFOX -or- GOOGLE CHROME). Don't suggest something that would make the rest of us suffer because you want one thing that adversely affects everyone else... I don't pay 77 bucks a month to just download text. If I'd wanted that, I'd be on a 1Mbit/s down connection for 10 bucks a month. I like seeing everyone's avatars and looking at the pictures they post or seeing the vids they link to. It's too cool to be blocked just to load the page faster. Besides, the pages should load almost instantly anyway, he's on a fast connection (for the server at least). That tells me that you need to either upgrade your pc, configure your browser (don't forget defrag and deleting stuff you don't use), or upgrade your connection.

Basically what I'm saying is: Don't wait for someone else to take your hand and do it for you, learn and take care of it on your own. Google is a real lifesaver when looking for instructions on how to do something. :p

BTW - I'm not trying to be rude, but I couldn't think of any other way of saying it without it looking rude. Sorry.

i dont use IE its really slow not worth using i use opera
i might have configured it wrong and i just downloads slow i have to fix it (it was faster before my comp crashed)

i cant defrag my computer i have tried and it wont and i tried alot of programs to

Edit:i am using a wireless usb adapter its a little slower than the wired i use to have it 2x faster

I think that what gamefrkI meant is a spoiler button that a poster could use to hide part or all of his/her post. The main reason for this is to hide large pictures and to prevent from spoiling the plot of a game/movie/book/show. It would be up to the author to use this when the post is written.
