The problem is that we already have a layout based on how users actually search. That is to say the same structure as the roms. This is also important for other database reasons.

Manufacturer -> Model -> Platform of Emulator -> Emualator -> Version

eg

Nintendo -> NES -> Android -> Nesoid -> v2.5.0

We can change this layout. If we do we will break all the existing Google page links and that would be bad. If you think about it, this is also the most common way that people search. They search for the system they want to emulate first, then the device they are going to run it on and then the version of emulator for that platform. Not the other way round.

Well the way I see, you have things set up like this
Code: Select all
Emulator
     /manufacturer
          /System
               /platform
                    /program
                         /Version

Example:
Code: Select all
Emulators
     /Sega
     /etc
     /Nintendo
          /Nes
          /SNes
               /Windows
               /Apple
               /Linux
                    /Snes9x
                    /ZSnes
                         /Zsnes-V1.50
                         /Zsnes-V1.50
                              /zsnes151src.tar.bz2

So, I say why not change it simply like this
Asterisk (*) Mark changes in file structure
Code: Select all
Emulators
     /Sega
     /etc
     /Nintendo
          /Nes
          /SNes
               /Windows
               /Apple
               /Linux
                    /Snes9x
                    /ZSnes
                         /Zsnes-V1.50
                         /Zsnes-V1.50
*                            */Source
*                                 */zsnes151src.tar.bz2
*                            */DEB
*                                 */zsens151.DEB
*                            */RPM
*                                 */zsnes151.RPM

If changing that is impossible due to loosing links then simple add them into the folder like this

Code: Select all
Emulators
     /Sega
     /etc
     /Nintendo
          /Nes
          /SNes
               /Windows
               /Apple
               /Linux
                    /Snes9x
                    /ZSnes
                         /Zsnes-V1.50
                         /Zsnes-V1.50
                              /zsnes151src.tar.bz2
*                            */zsnes151.DEB
*                            */zsnes151.RPM

Thank you for your consideration. (:

I understand better what you mean now, I was looking at your example incorrectly. The way you have described it in the example with the asterisk will work fine simply because it does not change the first four directory paths.

This is good i see no reason not to change it like this.

Is there much to be changed or is it more to do with how we add more?

If PMJP ok's it, then I think that's about as close to it as I plan on getting it.
