Configuring usb controller adapter

Postby sikfuk48 » Sat Jun 19, 2010 7:33 pm

I recently purchased a new N64 to USB adapter and I am having a problem getting it set up.
When I go to the control panel and test the controller, it is reading the yellow c-pad buttons as the Z and Y axis'. My other adapter(different brand) reads them as just plain buttons and the analog stick reads as the Z and Y axis'. I use my N64 cotroller for all my emulators(Genesis, SNES, etc.) and the way this one works, it won't read the yellow buttons in any other emulator than one for N64.

Is there a way to change the way the system recognizes these buttons?
I am using windows XP service pack 3.

Thanks

There is a program called Joy2Key, it makes your computer think your pressing a keyboard key or moving the mouse when you use your controller. It was originally meant to make it so you can use a joypad with any game, even if it doesn't support a joypad, but I have found it is good to get around the exact problem that you and I have. My computer reads my joystick so weird that I have to use Joy2Key to play anything that needs analog sticks. You can download it here.

Just to say, that page you linked has JoyToKey 3.7.4. The latest version (I think) is 3.7.9.
