zipped .CHD files are corrupt

I have downloaded 3 zipped .chd files Soulcb2 and 3 and primrag2, they all show being corrupt durring the extraction. I logged in with a different computer and redownloaded them, they also show being corrupt on the other system. I downloaded a .7z file from a different site and it worked and downloaded a .zip file from a news group and it worked, not sure if I just picked a bad batch or you might be holding some corrupted data.

well, i would like to check these out for you, but they are quite large lol. in fact, this may be the reason for the issues. due to the time it needs to download these files, the transmission may sometimes become corrupt, resulting in this problem. this occurs sometimes in small files, but is more common in files over 200mb. you can try a different extraction program, sometimes 7zip opens files winrar states are corrupt and viceversa. If both of those (assuming you are on windows) states they are corrupt, then it probably is. HT would need to verify the files integrity at that end so we can figure out the point where it is having the issues at.

Yeah used winrar, 7z, and even used the normal windows program. I downloaded the files 3X now and once on a machine that I just had a fresh install of XP and still no go, all of them call foul at some point in the decompression, I have downloaded 5 more .chd files and all the others work fine just those 3... the biggest 3 are the problem.

I can confirm that there are issues with our current CHD rom set. We have known about this for a while but due to the HUGE size of the entire set we were unable to do much about it.

I now have the full 0.149 CHD rom set ready for upload but I was going to clean the set so as to not upload unnecessary files.

before you start to upload this monster of a set i think you would love to take a look at the xml i created of which chds actually work in mame.

my xml is for 0.148-0.150 versions of mame.

you will save around 90GB of hdd and bandwidth with it.

Can you send that to me so that I can edit my 0.149 set. Do I have to do this manually?

i did all the manual heavy lifting, you just need to open the xml look at the directory name (ROM name) and delete what's not on the list cause it is non working.

saved me around 100GB :D

the full set (excluding the 6 laser discs games ) of working chds on the 0.150 version is around 44GB.

the laser discs games are around 66GB.

still with both combined you save over 90GB of non working games!

it's on the other pc i would send it to you later today.

atm watching aliens special edition Blu ray ;)

edit: the list is for the 0.150 version and not the 0.148/0.149 versions, just a heads up since each version make some games behave different, some are fixed some get broken,so the list is a reference for 0.150.
