Controller help for playing ROMs

Postby darren77 » Wed Sep 26, 2012 9:50 am

Hello.

I was wondering if a regular PC game controller will work for playing NES ROMs. Is a special controller required or ?? I had a problem to switch from my keyboard to using my USB controller and I'm not sure why.

I noticed in the emulator menu I could not select the joystick option. Maybe my controller is not compatable?

If anyone has any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it!

If your controller is detected by your OS, it should work in your emulator (make sure you have drivers installed). If all else fails, you might want to try controller profile software such as Xpadder. You would set your emulator up to use keyboard, then use the program to make the buttons on your controller emulate keyboard presses.
