Missing Rom or CHD Images

Postby e654562 » Wed Feb 29, 2012 4:47 pm

I have installed latest copy of Mame and tried to run many ROMs from Mame-0.37b5 and MAME v0.31 with 400+ Roms downloads and get a message saying "The selected game is missing one or more of the required ROM or CHD Images. Please select a different game.. I did try to use the MAME32 that came with the 400+roms and that seemed to work.. how can I use the latest copy of MAME

Roms for MAME are very temperamental. You have to use the version of MAME that the roms are dumped for. E.G. If you download a 0.37b5 rom you have to run it with the 0.37b5 emulator version of MAME. The MAME32 with 489 games is from the year 1998. They're old and won't run except with the emulator that comes with them. So again, if you get 1.440 roms, you have to run them on a 1.440 emulator version of MAME. Hope this helps.

All you need is this emulator: MAMEUI-v0.145 and it's roms from here: MAME-v0.145 ROMs

As long as you place the rom files in their proper place so that the emulator can pick up on them, you should have no issue playing them. Hope this helps! :D
