I downloaded a rom of the game Tough Turf for MAME, but the game plays with no audio. Other MAME roms have audio, so it only seems to happen with this one.

Any idea why this would happen?

Simple way to find out these things:

Check KLOV to see what system the game runs on:

Then check the dev wiki for MAME:

GNS is "game no sound"

Scroll all the way down to the Sega System 16 part and you'll see:

"tturf - One of the sound roms isn't dumped. "

That'll be why

So basically there is no way to fix it?

'fraid not mate. Unless you can find a PCB and dump the sound ROM's yourself and donate the data to the MAME devs. I don't mean that flippantly, it has been done before.

A lot of things in MAME are a waiting game. I've been waiting for DoDonpachi II - Bee Storm for literally years.
