NooB help loading and transfering roms C64

I have just purchased a commodore 64c and have ordered a uIEC I have not received this product yet
BUT my problem is how to load the .D64 files from the sdcard in my uIEC does anyone know how to do this
will i need any other hardware or software ?
sorry if i'm going over old ground but i could not find a how to.
any help greatly appreciated
