Theme Park on DOS BOX

Hi downloaded Dosbox v0.74 and theme hospital and I'm using vista.

If I try to run the game using the main.exe the dos terminal just freezes.
If I try the install.exe the program launches but when I click install it just refreshes the page and it wont let me change the install path.

I've downloaded the game twice to make sure it isn't corrupt and searched google for similar problems but couldn't find any.

I've been able to get other games to launch, this is the only game I'm having problems with.
Any help would be appreciated.

Here goes. This works for me.

Remember to set the following in Dosbox.conf (use Notepad)
Code: Select all
[sblaster] (header)
mixer=1
irq=7
dma=1
hdma=5
oplrate=44100
sbtype=sb16
sbbase=220
oplmode=auto
oplemu=default
[dosbox]
memsize=32
machine=svga_s3
[cpu]
cyclesup=500
cyclesdown=20
core=auto
cycles=auto
type=auto

The zip should come with a file called Setsound.bat. run it in dosbox. Set theme hospital to use Soundblaster 16

Use Auto Detect:

An excellent response te_lanus and many thanks for that support. Doing all that brings back a lot of memories of PC gaming in the 90's.

I still can't get the game to run.

I downloaded the game from two sources and neither has a file called setsound.bat. I noticed that when I change a setting in the theme park install.exe it creates a file called sndsetup.inf, currently that file looks like this:
Code: Select all
SOUNDFX = SB16 220 7 1
MUSIC = none 388 0 0

(I've also tried changing the music to SB16)

With the dosbox.conf. I've tried placing the code at the end of the file, I've tried deleting all the code that was originally in there and only using your code. I've also tried going through the config and only changing the code that differs from what you've shown me.

The program still won't start. If I type main.exe in dosbox, dosbox just freezes and I have to exit the program.

If you could please point out where I'm going wrong.

Sorry I made a stupid mistake. When I went to download the game, I didn't look at the names I just took the one with the most downloads. So I grabbed the without "(F)" next to it.

So I just downloaded the right one, and everything works perfectly now.

But thanks for all the help.
