Hi everyone!
I am new to the world of retro gaming and have recently started exploring RetroPie on my Raspberry Pi 5. As there is currently no official RetroPie image for the Raspberry Pi 5, setting it up has been both a challenging and fun learning experience. However, I’ve run into an issue with MAME and would greatly appreciate your guidance.
RetroPie comes with MAME2003 pre-installed, which, as I understand, uses MAME v0.78 ROMs. From what I’ve gathered on forums and the RetroPie website, these ROMs are ideal for the ARM64 architecture of the Raspberry Pi. To follow this recommendation, I upgraded to unlimited on theoldcomputer.com to access the ROM archive, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find the v0.78 ROM set within the “MAME (all)” section of the site.
I did download a ROM from romhustler, which works perfectly fine within the LibretroMAME folder on my setup. However, I am keen to utilise the resources available through my subscription and get the correct ROMs for MAME2003.
Could anyone familiar with the Raspberry Pi or theoldcomputer.com assist me in locating the correct ROM set? Alternatively, if no such ROMs are available on the site, I’d be grateful for suggestions on suitable alternatives so I can make the most of my setup.
Thank you in advance for your help!
