The answer to this question is simple: there are no ROMs for Freedom Fighter because they haven't been dumped yet. To clarify this situation further here is the list of unnecessary MPEG encodes for Daphne circling the net.

- Freedom Fighter
- Laser Grand Prix
- Time Traveler
- Who Shot Johnny Rock?

These games are not supported. And here is the full list of supported ones.

- Astron Belt
- Badlands (1983 by Konami, not to be confused with a 1989 racing game by Atari/Teque)
- Bega's Battle
- Cliff Hanger (also in MAME)
- Cobra Command (also in MAME)
- Dragon's Lair (official release and prototype)
- Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp
- Esh's Aurunmilla
- Firefox (also in MAME)
- Galaxy Ranger (Star Blazer in Japan)
- GP World
- Goal to Go (through Cliff Hanger emulation - it was sold as a conversion kit for this one, so to run it you just have to properly rename the ROMs and MPEGs)
- Interstellar Laser Fantasy
- M.A.C.H. 3 (also in MAME)
- Road Blaster
- Space Ace (1983 original and Leland's 1991 re-release)
- Super Don Quix-ote
- Thayer's Quest
- Us vs. Them (also in MAME)

There is a special LUA script-based add-on for Daphe called SINGE which allows us to play additional laserdisc games. These are:

- Crime Patrol
- Crime Patrol 2: Drug Wars
- Mad Dog McCree
- Mad Dog II: The Lost Gold
- Ninja Hayate
- Space Pirates
- The Last Bounty Hunter
- Time Gal
- Time Traveler (but the Daphne MPEGs are still useless)
- Who Shot Johnny Rock? (likewise)

SINGE does not need any ROMs, but you have to prepare the majority of the games by installing the current Digital Leisure's Windows re-releases with special installers made by an enigmatic RDG which are available at the SINGE site.

After checking it yesterday now I'm pretty sure that all of the SINGE stuff at the ROMs section comes from my personal collection. Who else might be so crazy to edit the framefiles and strip them of all unnecessary spaces to save a few kBs? I also recognize my own BAT scripts, line by line, and the naming convention - I always tend to replace any characters not allowed by file system (a "?" in case of Johnny Rock) by "_". I can finally sleep peacefully knowing that they're safe in here. All hail The Old Computer! :)
By the way, the so called "prototype" of Dragon's Lair is no prototype at all - it's probably a dump of Nintendo DS version of the game. I deduced that from the "licensed exclusively to Nintendo" message which appears at the title screen (yes, it works quite fine with Daphne, but I prefer the original 1983 Starcom release).

Thank you for a very full and complete answer. I am more than happy to be the custodian of your work here at theoldcomputer. I think we all now know who is in charge of the Daphne section from here on.

Many thanks.

Yorokonde (means "with pleasure" in Japanese) - I'll be glad if my knowledge can be useful, I'm definitely not going to take it to the grave. ;)

Edit: My apologies to everyone interested, but it looks like the Dragon's Lair (Prototype) indeed IS a prototype! It just has to be used with a proper ROMs to show the scenes which did not make it to the final pressing of the LD and I overlooked that fact. You can find more information about this very rare version by using the links below.

Code: Select all
http://d-l-p.com/games/related/prototype/dl/default.asp

Code: Select all
http://d-l-p.com/tech/enhancements/dle21.asp

So I'm really happy to announce that we have a complete collection of MPEGs in the ROMs section, including extremally rare 1991 re-release of Space Ace and prototype version of Dragon's Lair! All hail The Old Computer x2!
