how to use mame 0.144u*'s

Hi guys,

Just been downloading the mame roms for 0.144 and have downloaded the 0.144u* folders but not sure how you use them, as in one I noticed it has Strider2 and that one is a few hundred k wheras the Strider2 (exactly same name) in the S folder is a couple of meg in size.

Obviously I dont want to just overwrite the file with the smaller one etc, so was just wondering if you do just overwrite any duplicate files or theres something you need to do instead etc.

(Most files are different to whats in the normal file lists etc, just dont want to 'break' any files ive already got etc)

Many thanks in advance,

Mark.

You use the U releases to update the version you are working with. You need to read about the DAT releases for MAME and this will explain it better. You can then use any of the MAME romset tools to automate the upgrade of your MAME set.
