i have noticed many roms are version 1.0 and 1.1...what does that mean? Are they just the Greatest Hits release of said game?

I do believe that they are in the very core, the same game. Possibly some bug fixes or typos and such. Small updates but does not change the gameplay in higher version numbers.

i just noticed a slight difference in the file size of them and was curious. Are they actual rips from real CD's or fixed roms re-uploaded?

Hi Crusty. The V1.1/4 is normally updates during the life cycle of the game, Normally for fixing bugs/removing cheats.
