Steam is in my opinion quite possibly the worst thing to happin to PC gaming ever. I hate it with a passion that knows no bounds.

I hated it when it first came out. But now I don't really mind Steam too much. I actually like it in many ways. Either way, I don't have a choice.

That is my point, its the 'not having a choice' that I hate. I played all the COD series. Since it went onto Steam I will not be buying again.

Yeah, go console for anything that requires steam. I can't help you, I have never used steam before, but I really do hope that you figure out the problem.

We're all being very general. What is it you hate about Steam, exactly?

Steam is... a joke. Someone is trying to come out with the next best thing by having it all at your fingertips, and ruining the experience in the process. I have enough crap installed on my computer, I dont need another thing to install some other stuff that installs this after downloading that and paying for all of it. Nope

Where do I start.

1 to 11
I hate the fact that you MUST install it in order to play a game that you have already paid for. For everything else you will ever buy, once you pay for it you can do with it as you wish. I can buy a DVD then burn it if I like. Not with Steam ... no.... to play the game that I paid for, I HAVE to load up Steam and login and wait and then download an update for Steam that I dont want ... then download an update for the game that I dont need .... then after 20 minutes of fecking around I might get to play the game. That is if Steam is actually up and running.

12: I hate the fact that one day Steam decided that I had illegal software on my PC and without any warning banned my account.

13: I hate the fact that after signing up to their supprt system (you cant just send them an email ... no, you have to join another forum and wait to be accepted just to be able to register a problem  ) I never ever ever (1 year later) got any reply to my 'Open Support Issue'. Nothing not even a welcome.

14: I hate the fact that after I raised that support call, I then raised another call and still never received so much as a reply.

15: I had my account banned which meant that the game 'THAT I BOUGHT' then stopped working.

16: I HATE steam, they are everything that is wrong with PC gaming these days.

Before anyone asks, no I did not have a cheat on my computer, what Steam had found was tsearch, a program that allows you to debug live code. Apparently it is also used by people that make cheats. Without stopping to ask me why I had this, Steam simply banned my account and there is NOTHING that can be done to remove the ban because apparently all FAC Bans are perminent.

There are assholes and we need to rise up against them. Steam SUCKS big time. :x :x :x :x
