Escape the Room Games: Puzzle your way out

Escape-the-room games are puzzles games that, true to the name, have you trapped inside a room (or some variation of being trapped), and you must solve a cascade of point-and-click puzzles to escape.

It started with a Vision (see below), and escape rooms have been my favorite genre of puzzling since.

Although there are many websites featuring escape games , one website I favor that has pretty decent escape games is Jay is Games. A fair gaming website in itself, but I digress.

These two Escape games created for people new or unfamiliar with escape games. Here you play as Wan and Nyan, who are chosen as "Most Valubale Escaper[s]", and are invited to a tourney. The the games are admittingly kiddish, but they're a pretty good introduction to escape games, and contain cliches that're to be expected.


I was going to make a list of favorites and recommendations, but there are many escape rooms made by various designers, and all of the escape games they've made are just so amazing, that it's hard for me to choose favorites among these talented designers. So I'm just going to give you links of the well known escape game creators on Jay is Games:

Vision, My first escape room, from Neutral. Just something I tried for the hell of it one fine day. Despite numeruos urges to look at a walkthrough, I soldiered on, and I was quite proud of myself for managing to escape the "room", especally since I had low regards over myself for solving such puzzles. It's what got me hooked into escape games, and I treasure it as my most favorite escape game ever.

...though, I shamefully confess, despite not looking at a walkthrough for Vision, when solving other escape puzzles, I sometimes take a peek at the walkthrough when stumped.
