The Original Pong, and Atari 2600

Postby nocky » Fri Feb 21, 2014 5:07 am

Hi all I have a couple of items that may interest
1) the original pong game, I think I got this for xmas in around 1974, never new you could have so much fun with 2 bats and a square ball but in the 70's it was ground breaking technology, this game also had a hockey game, same deal hit the ball back and forth but small gap for a goal behind your bat

2) Atari 2600 with a module you plug into cartridge socket that holds 10 games, also comes with 10 or so games including Android, Golf, Breakout, tanks and others, I am posting this at work so a full list is available on request and I think I would have bought this in the late 1970's

I am in Australia and just seeing if any interest or are the items of any value
Cheers

I would LOVE both of these but alas I fear that the postage would be astronomical. Nice gear to have though. Pictures would be nice and also the make and model of the pong.

These sites may give you an idea of the value, although the actual value may vary they are pretty accurate. My personal opinion is that anything that dated is worth collecting.

Thanks for the links
Well mixed success, the pong game I have Pics, The Atari has been taken over by my 23 year old son so the old games are coming back :bow2: He is around 300km from me so no pics as yet

The PONG is A SHEEN which I think is only Black and White as I haven't used on a colour TV, Colour came to Oz in 1975 and I had what was classed as a portable B & W TV for a couple of years after then, the pong is complete except for the AC adapter, it does use 6 x C batteries as well, I never powered it with Batteries
