Registered on the forum, not on the download section!?

As you can see, I am a registered user.
When I try to download (namely, VIC-20 prgs) I am asked to login again.
The credentials are not accepted ("wrong username or password").
What is happening?

hello MaxFrames.
logging in to the forums does not log you in to the main site. that is why you were asked to login on the main site.
how long did you wait after activating your account before you tried downloading from the main site? it's best to wait a few hours after you activate your account to allow the server to register you in the system.
(stupid question) did you enter your user name and password in the exact same way as you do in the forums? you need to enter your credentials with the exact same upper and lower case letters as you use in the forums.

I am entering the exact same credentials in the exact same way, and they are not being accepted.
It's been two or three days since I registered, so that can't be the problem either.

have you tried clearing your web browsers cache/history/temp files?
this has helped many people with your type of problem.

One thing to try is to change your password. Sometimes the password does not translate well in the ROM's system.

I've changed the password, cleared the cache and history, used a different browser, nothing has worked. Clearly, the problem is not on my side. Do I have to delete the account and create a new one (will have to be the same email address though)?

EDIT:
I found the problem. The forum accepts passwords with "&" and the ROM section does not...
