Unlimited member, only 180kb download speed?

Like title says, I just noticed that my speeds are 180kb on my 10mb/sec connection. I thought unlimited members have unlimited download speeds? I paid the lifetime member fee and roms database says I have all access rights.

Thanks for your assistance. Please help.

Hi,

Speeds do vary a lot during any 24 hour period. I can average 400-500KB from UK to US using the Unlimited account at certain times and then at other times it can be as low as 150KB. Unfortunately there is not much we can do to improve this without a lot more monthly income to support greater bandwidth.

Sorry.

That's understandable, however I found it strange that the speed would default to 180-190kb/sec, the cited speed for registered members. I'd be happy with ~500kb. Guess I need to wait for those pesky Americans to fall asleep. :D

Thanks for the explanation.

I just wanted to chime in really quick and state that I too enjoy those sweet sweet speeds of ~120 to 210 KB/s . I've not seen speeds faster than ~260 KB/s so buckle up buttercup, you're in for a steady ride. :P

With all due seriousness though, as HT said, we would need a much larger income to support a greater bandwidth pipe to the box and we just really can't afford that right now, so we all have to deal with these speeds as unfortunate as that is. :(
