The name of the server starts with "TheOldComputer.com's Weekend Blooodbath" and your server is missing HT, I can't find it. BTW, the server won't be running again until at least friday...

Dragon Mech wrote:ok, so i have good news and bad news, good news: i got skulltag up and running. :D bad news:i have no idea how to get a skulltag user name. :( plus like i stated before, my isp changes my IP address every time i connect to the internet. how do i get a skulltag username?

Your IP address changing all the time won't matter to anyone (except those than ban you via IP, because since yours changes constantly you'll still be able to connect since you're on a different IP again... and again... and again... etc.) and your username can be anything, you just set it up once you're in the game through the doom options menu under "player setup."

Required, but the awesome thing about Doomseeker or Internet Doom Explorer (IDE) is that if you don't have the required mods to play, it automatically downloads them for you and places them in the appropriate place so that you can play. It's awesome really. :3

i got skulltag installed yesterday and played a few games on it. but now i have a new problem, my CPU
is way to SSSSSSSLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW! :freakout: if there are to many sprites
the screen freezes and it takes about 2 or 3 minutes for my cpu to catch up. even in single player mode, just going up against one spiderdemon with the BFG9000 froze skulltag for 3 minutes. so if i do play, i'll most likly
be shot to heck and back.....and to heck again.

Your server may not be visible HT due to not having the ports on your firewall/router open. You need to open both tcp/udp in a range from 10650 to 10700 to ensure that skulltag will work properly. OR your server isn't broadcasting to the new masterserver, it may still be trying to broadcast to the old masterserver. Either of these are the issue, I promise. :3

Dragon Mech, have you tried playing in software mode?

i was useing software mode from the start. my AGP dosen't work with OpenGL, i seem to have fixed the problem. i switched the blood splaters from sprites to particles, it's not pretty but it works.
i also turned off some of the special texture and lighting stuff that wasn't in the DOS release of Doom/Doom2. :D . so as soon as HT fixes his server, the carnage can start. thats assuming there's a good ping.

Does the lag that you're experiencing only happen online, or does it happen offline to? If it's only happening online, then it's because you have dial-up, and that's why it's happening. If it's happening offline, then I have NO idea what to say because doom and doom 2 both only require a 66 MHz processor (single core, single thread) and 16 MB of RAM... and they didn't require a video card at all... so I have no idea as to why you're having issues if it happens offline at all... :eh:
