My computer needs to be resurrected!

Postby OCDelGuy » Mon Apr 26, 2021 11:39 pm

Not really... The hardware is still working fine! :D

I have an old Windows Vista laptop I just pulled out of storage. It's loaded with Internet Explorer 9. I can access bing.com and I know the wireless network works because I got the Chauvin trial verdict on the Bing website. The hardware works well. Even the DVD works! I just watched a movie on DVD.

The problem I'm having is that several other sites are inaccessible. Yahoo, Microsoft, to name two. How can I update the certificates required to visit other sites that have been updated?
Alternatively, I would be OK with to the current version of Internet Explorer without accessing the Microsoft website?
I'm trying to avoid upgrading the OS (vista) as there are programs loaded on the HDD that are still good (and irreplaceable).

It's an HP Pavillion dv2742se.

Thanks All.

i would suggest that you get a more modern web browser. like chrome or firefox. internet explorer 9 is too far out of date to be usable with any website that isn't specifically designed to be used with older browsers.
