Is anyone thinking of playing this. This intro is 15 minutes long and quite possible the best game intro I have every watched. What do you think yourselves.

HT, this is also one of the most astonishing game intro's I've seen for a while.
I'm also very much considering playing this game. But I cannot stop thinking about how amazing World of Warcraft was, mostly because the amazing scenery (nature). I'm afraid I will be missing that in SWTOR...

What do you think, have you tried it already?

I have not played it, mostly because I am still totally involved with Battlefield 3 and do not have time to play any more games. It does look superb though.

I'm no Star Wars fan, and I know someone who is; He said that this is the worst Star Wars game in history and should be avoided like the plague, and he's an EXTREME Star Wars fan, like going-to-Star-Wars-Cons type of fan. He also stated that this game is basically an exact clone of World of Warcraft but set in the Star Wars universe...

My personal opinion is really simplistic... Look at how many MMORPG's that have come out over the years that have been anywhere near successful and then look at World of Warcraft. Final Fantasy XI (11) was the first MMO game that was largely successful, and then World of Warcraft came out and stole just about ALL of it's playerbase. Last I checked the server population base of FFXI is around 300k... WORLDWIDE. World of Warcraft recently celebrated their 12-million-active-account mark, so I'd say give it time, World of Warcraft will kill Star Wars: The Old Republic.

End result for most people would be just wasting their money so that they could go back to World of Warcraft.

I most likely will not be playing it. I do however play EVE and in my opinion it is the single best MMORPG in creation. Simply vast and with something for everyone.

I used to play Necron when it first released then I just played Ragnarok Online then rest of the time I used to Play WoW but it got boring playing alone all the time :/ WTOR seems like another MMORPG clone though I think Star Trek Online looks more interesting. I never played EVE but I read a EVE novel and I really loved the EVE Universe
