Well, as you can see, the white inside of the cabinet (where the monitor will be going) still has to be done.
I'm planning to do this when the rest of the cabinet has been painted. Then I can open up the control panel again and will have easier access to the side parts of the panel.

Unos problemos:
We had two power failures last weekend, so I had to get to the power connections twice. Problem is: the 45kg monitor is in front of the door where the power connections are. So I had to move the monitor four times by myself.. and when moving it the 4th time (the last 5 cm) I heard a snap:

The monitor control panel cord broke off. I recon it's fixable, but I'm not sure yet since I haven't looked at it that well since. The alternative when it will not go back on is:

A new 27 - 29" screen (oh noooo! )

:)

Guys, thank you so much. I'm also looking forward to updating it once more :).

That's greatly appreciated. It's an expensive project, but really fun to do. I'll keep you guys updated about the monitor. I recon a fix might be possible!

As for yesterday I did the second paintjob on the sides. It appears I was mis-informed on the paint by the salesman in the store. He made me a perfect white high-gloss paint. Well, it doesn't seem to be that high-gloss.

Ah well, I'm going on with it anyway, because it doesn't look bad. When I have time tonight, I will be -very carefully- placing the sticker(s) on both sides. Oh boy I cannot wait to see the result of that!
Then I will paint the inside where the monitor will come black and do a second black paintjob around the coindoor. When that dries up tommorow or friday, I can start putting the gear in  .

Many greetings :hi:

Luckily I could find some time tonight to start with applying one of the side art stickers!

It took about an hour to put on; had to be really patient :ugeek:.
In the end result there are some really tiny bumbs too see (when you look close), but those are little bumbs in the paint underneath. So you can see any flaws through the sticker. But ahh, nobody will ever notice :shh:

It's on:

Just started removing the top layer

And man, I'm amazed at the color quality! :o

Cheers mates!
